The Year of the Wood HORSE brings us probably one of the most powerful years we have had in 60 years – prepare for mega shifts this year! (Which is a welcome change from all the mega sh*t of the past few years).

A Horse year is considered a good year bringing good fortune to those willing to work hard and act fast. Procrastinate and you are guaranteed to fail.

The energy of a Horse year is fast and you will need to keep up with it. However, as mentioned in my previous Blog, when life is getting busy around you, you will need to have common sense and trust your gut before riding forward. Don’t let the excitement of what is happening cause you to listen to your mind over your heart/intuition. There is a feeling of rushing at times, but don’t let that force you into a decision, if you are not sure about something, then wait, always wait for clarity and/or more information before moving ahead.

We are all going to need to saddle up and hang on for the ride of our lives this year. It’s gonna be fast, fun, wild at times, unpredictable, exciting and sometimes darn right nerve wracking! So we will need to ensure that we are determined, remain in integrity, stand in our truth, and persevere – and oh how we will be tested on that one over the coming year! There is no sitting on the fence this year, it is very black and white, very yes or no, with no middle ground in between.

The Wood Horse brings us purpose, strength, power, stability, new growth, urgency, dynamic action, mobility, independence and victory. The last two years were Water years and were quite tough on us, this year we are relieved to lift our heads up and finally feel like we are getting somewhere.

It could also be a very romantic year; you could be swept off your feet into a passionate adventure. It may not last forever (or it may for some) but it certainly will be fun! BTW how is your lingerie drawer looking?

We will all be travelling more during this year, and let’s face it after the past few years we could all do with some new adventures!

If you tend to be a bit of a fiery personality, you will need to learn to control that during this Wood Horse year, if you keep losing your temper you will lose a heck of a lot more this year.

If you are a control freak you could come unstuck this year, as you will not be able to control others like you have done in the past. Freedom is one of the gifts that Wood Horse brings, and this freedom is available to all this year.

2014 is the time for us all to step forward as Leaders rather than followers. We have spent so many years dealing with the Ascension Process, now we are out the other side of it, we have been reborn in our own wisdom and we are now invited to step into the world with it.

Women are well favoured in business from this year onwards, as women prepare for the 20-year cycle, which runs from 2024 through to 2043. (Baby girls born in 2014 “will be leaders of the future”).

Financial wealth and opportunities - in many areas of your life - are all well aspected during this year for those who are decisive and take action. Personal success is assured this year if you follow the guidance given.

However, as fast as money comes in your urge to splurge could see it going out just as fast. So keep a tight rein on your finances, and invest in what will bring you a better ROI in say, five years time.

Working in harmony with yourself and others is the key to working with the energies the Wood Horse brings. Integrity is essential so that you do not lose yourself. Kindness and being loving will be rewarded this year and will keep you on track. Discipline will definitely be needed as will respecting self and others.

There is Yang (male) energy this year after two years of Yin (water/feminine) energy, so you will need to saddle up your inner Warrior/ess and start showing him/her to the world this year. Warrior energy is needed to match the energy of this year, not aggressively, but rather as in the Way of the Peaceful Warrior.

It is a high energy year, so you will need to ensure that your energy can match that. It is very important this year to stay healthy and strong. So sort out your nutrition and exercise, resolve to put better practices in place – you are preparing yourself for success – and you will need to be able to keep going especially during the busy times. Boost your immune system, do strengthening practices for inner and outer strength, get the juicer out! And you must stay grounded; all the excitement can make you forget to check your grounding that is why good nutrition is so important even when you are so busy you haven’t got time to bless yourself!

This is a year for building and showing confidence, and the Wood Horse will help you to ride confidently into all you do this year. It is very important to finish what you start this year, all the attractive opportunities could have you going off in all sorts of directions like an untrained colt, rein yourself back in, focus and finish one thing at a time.

In your time off, ensure that you spend plenty of time out in Nature; freedom-loving horse needs space and fresh air. Plus Nature always helps you to ground yourself.

FENG SHUI Tips for Wood HORSE year

Clear Clutter

I know you know this, but you may find yourself finally realising that you really don’t need all those things after all. You have changed; your lifestyle is changing so you don’t need all the stuff that no longer fits in with who you now are. (One report I read had a great illustration where the writer said something about, is she really going to hold those big dinner parties anymore? And if not, then she doesn’t need all those steak knives etc cluttering up her cupboards).

Fix It/Finish It

Fix anything that is broken or leaking or throw it away. Any other outstanding jobs or tasks? Then get them done as soon as possible. And don’t forget your gardens/attics/basements/garages/offices etc.; this applies to all of those areas also.

Clothing/Accessories for self and home/environment

Wood is represented by the colour green. To be in harmony with the energy of the year and befriend the ruling Wood Horse energy, it is recommended to wear the colours of the Wood Feng Shui element - all shades of Green and Brown.

In addition to Wood Feng Shui element, you can also wear the colours of the Water and Earth elements, because these two elements support the Wood in its growth and well-being. So, the colours blue and black (Water element colours) as well as all earthy tones (Earth element) are also good in the coming year of the Wood Horse 2014.

You can wear not only clothing, but also all sorts of accessories in the green-brown colour scheme, such as jewellery, belts, scarves, shoes and handbags.

To make it even more powerful, you can choose jewellery with natural crystals and stones with the presence of Wood energy, such as emeralds, green jade, agate, green tourmaline, peridot (the stone of new beginnings) and malachite.

Also good are crystals and stones with the presence of Water element energy - such as turquoise, aquamarine, sapphire, pearls, kyanite, lapis lazuli and moonstone. Or, go for black colour ones, such as black obsidian, black tourmaline or black onyx.

Least favourable colours in 2014 are the colours of Fire and Metal feng shui elements, respectively all whites and greys, as well as purple, orange and red colours.
However, because Horses are considered to have the energy of fire, it is OK to wear accessories in Fire feng shui element colours (reds and oranges).

Horse ornaments etc

In classical feng shui applications, the Horse brings the energy of success, fame, freedom and speed.
Thus, the horse feng shui symbol is often used in the Fame area of the Bagua (South), as well as the Career area (North).
The image of a horse (or several horses) be it in art, a photo or a sculpture is often used in business and office feng shui applications.

As horses symbolize the Feng Shui element of Fire, be mindful about not placing cures with horses, such as for example, an image with many running horses, in the Wood feng shui element areas (check the Bagua for more info).
If you love horses and would like to use this cure in your love & marriage feng shui area, be sure to place two horses (not one or three.)
If you have a sculpture of a horse and need to know which direction it should face, you can have your horse sculpture face any opening, such as a door or a window.

I only have one word of caution regarding the year of the Wood Horse, as Spirit has repeatedly been showing me the wooden horse of Troy, the Trojan Horse. Caution is required to still trust your gut and intuition even when all the wonderful things are happening. We will be vulnerable for a while; having come through a rough couple of years we are almost desperate for things to get better. That is when we can get duped, so even when the good times start rolling in, apply common sense especially when linking up with new people (some may have hidden motives that will not be immediately apparent). And as it is a Yang energy year, there will be those around you who are super-competitive (and they may hide it well at first), so keep your counsel about what you are planning to do until you know you can trust people, and always copyright your work so that it cannot be stolen or plagiarized.

Ensure that you will not be disturbed.

Sit comfortably ensuring that you have not crossed your legs/arms or hands.

Focus on your breath, and start taking deeper and deeper breaths, inhaling and exhaling through the nose.

Feel your body becoming more settled and relaxed as your breathwork centres you.

When you are in a meditative state, clear your mind and wait for what will follow.

FINALLY

Don’t limit yourself in any way this year; there are no limits this year. You really have no idea just how much success you will experience this year, the Universe will surprise you beyond your wildest dreams. And don’t limit your dreams and goals; make them big, audacious ones as there is absolutely nothing to hold you or them back anymore.

We had all of last year to “ponder and plan”; this is the year for going for it. If you want to move home – do it. If you want to change jobs or get a promotion – do it! If you want to launch a new business – do it! If you want to find the partner of your dreams – do it! This year you will have the energy and passion required. Be optimistic, be excited, be inspired, be fearless - the time of The Quickening is here - enjoy it!
