Shared Wisdom

A dear friend recently sent this to me, (it's an e-mail that has been doing the rounds so I don't know the name of the author).

I found it very inspirational and a great reminder.

Once upon a time, there was this girl who had four boyfriends.

She loved the 4th boyfriend the most and adored him with rich robes and treated him to the finest of delicacies. She gave him nothing but the best.

She also loved the 3rd boyfriend very much and was always showing him off to neighboring kingdoms. However, she feared that one day he would leave her for another.

She also loved her 2nd boyfriend. He was her confidant and was always kind, considerate and patient with her. Whenever this girl faced a problem, she could confide in him, and he would help her get through the difficult times.

The girl's 1st boyfriend was a very loyal partner and had made great contributions in maintaining her wealth and kingdom.

However, she did not love the first boyfriend. Although he loved her deeply, she hardly took notice of him!

One day, the girl fell ill and she knew her time was short. She thought of her luxurious life and wondered, "I now have four boyfriends with me, but when I die, I'll be all alone."

Thus, she asked the 4th boyfriend, "I loved you the most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?"

"No way," replied the 4th boyfriend, and he walked away without another word.

His answer cut like a sharp knife right into her heart.

The sad girl then asked the 3rd boyfriend, "I loved you all my life. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?""No!" replied the 3rd boyfriend. "Life is too good! When you die, I'm going to marry someone else!"

Her heart sank and turned cold.

She then asked the 2nd boyfriend, "I have always turned to you for help and you've always been there for me. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?"

"I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!" replied the 2nd boyfriend. "At the very most, I can only walk with you to your grave."

His answer struck her like a bolt of lightning, and the girl was devastated.

Then a voice called out: "I'll go with you. I'll follow you no matter where you go."

The girl looked up, and there was her first boyfriend. He was very skinny as he suffered from malnutrition and neglect.

Greatly grieved, the girl said, "I should have taken much better care of you when I had the chance!"

In truth, you have 4 "boyfriends" in your lives:

Your 4th boyfriend is your body. No matter how much time and effort you lavish in making it look good, it will leave you when you die.

Your 3rd boyfriend are your possessions, status and wealth. When you die, it will all go to others.

Your 2nd boyfriend is your family and friends. No matter how much they have been there for you, the furthest they can stay by you is up to the grave.

And your 1st boyfriend is your Soul. Often neglected in pursuit of wealth, power and pleasures of the world.

However, your Soul is the only thing that will follow you wherever you go; cultivate, strengthen and cherish it now, for it is the only part of you that will follow you to the throne of God and continue with you throughout Eternity.

Thought for the day: Remember, when the world pushes you to your knees, you're in the perfect position to pray.

Pass this on to someone you care about - I just did.

Being happy doesn't mean everything's perfect.
It means you've decided to see beyond the imperfections.

NEW YEAR MESSAGE

Hello and welcome to the year two thousand and great!

2008 is the year to:-

Radiate
Initiate
Elevate
Luxuriate
Graduate

Whatever you do – make it great! You cannot fail this year so really go for it.

We are currently in a New Year Revolution – so are you going to ride the Wheel of Success or the Wheel of Fear this year? Set your compass now to direct your year ahead. And for sure there’ll be some road blocks and detours ahead but start as you mean to go on and keep an eye out for the signposts.

2007 has gone so let it go. You had plenty of chances last year to do something new, get out of your rut, etc but did you do it? Do you really want to be where you are now at the end of this year? Well if you don’t make some kind of effort, unless you take action, that’s exactly where you will be. So are you going to do it?

This year we have been given the green light, at last we can fly like arrows, we are no longer being held back, we have been given permission (and have support from the planets and Universe) to go for it full on!

This is a new year with new beginnings. As many of you know the numerology for this year is all about new beginnings. We get the chance to start again. It is a ‘1’ year (2+0+0+8 = 10, 1+0 = 1). Some view the ‘10’ as completion and the ‘1’ as new beginnings. Here are some other numerological definitions of the number one:-

- The Pioneer, Leadership ability, acting independently*, choosing the path less travelled.
- Unity, beginning, focused concentration, goal striving, action, independence*, originality, courage, invention, leader, self reliant, ambition, will, conscious mind, positive.
- Adventure, initiative, originality, determination, individuality, direction.

'NUMBER ONE is the first number in the universe and represents the highest form, which is God Himself. The manifested light and everything that was made of it is God in His Oneness. Whenever the Deity is to be identified, this is done by number one. One means highest cognition, highest unity, and highest wisdom. All evolution starts with this number. It is represented by a dot. The middle of flowers represents the Oneness of God. One is represented by the center of the mandala'.

*Independence – is the key word for this year. This is your chance to achieve independence on whatever level you most need it. The planets and Universe will support you this year, so find the courage to do what you know you need to do. You are not alone, you will have support both in the seen and unseen worlds. Whatever you do, it is essential that this year you take the steps necessary to achieve the level of independence you need. You will be able to find the courage this time so go for it!

Here is a little exercise which is great for helping you to clarify things:-

LIFE PIE

Your life is made up of lots of different sections and compartments; work, health, spirituality, relationships, etc. If you drew it as a pie chart, how big would each slice be? (i.e. what percentage of your energy gets taken up by each section?). Which areas have been neglected and could do with more input from you? Ideally all slices of your Life Pie should be the same size J.
Take a look at the list below and put together your own Life Pie and be honest about how large or small each segment currently is:-

WORK
This can be your day job, whatever way you are currently in service to your community, whatever way you currently earn money.

HEALTH
Nutrition (everything that you currently eat and drink); Exercise (exactly how much you do right now); also includes mental and emotional health; Mental: what percentage of your time is spent on negative or self defeatist thinking, what percentage is spent on thoughts of gratitude? Emotional: what percentage of your time is spent in joy and happiness?

SPIRITUALITY
This includes day to day ways of being spiritual not just meditating (do you find time to meditate each day?). It also includes time spent developing your spirituality and practising it.

RELATIONSHIPS
This section includes partner, children, family, extended family and friends, pets. Who gets the majority of your time? Is some adjustment needed here? How much time do you spend on your relationship with yourself (or are you spending too much time on you and neglecting the others in your life)?

HOME
How often are you there? How much time, energy and love do you spend on your home? Remember it represents your physical vehicle and is an outer reflection of what is really going on inside you.

FUN/PLAY
How much time is set aside to just go out and play and have some fun? When was the last time you had fun?

Now what kind of a pie is it? Is it plain like an apple pie or is it topped with whipped creams spirals, colourful hundreds and thousands and gorgeous pink and purple icing? What do you need to do to turn your pie as it is today into an utterly gorgeous irresistible one?

Look forward to this year. It is going to be an exciting year where you can really start to get somewhere with your dreams and goals.

Don’t let a long list of New Year’s resolutions put you off. Here’s another tip:-

- Choose one thing a month that you are going to change in your life. (Have a think and decide in each month of this year what is the one thing that most needs to change?)
- Then write down your plan of action about how you are going to achieve that and each step that you will need to take in order to make it happen.

You have an end of month deadline to achieve this task, so each week and day of this month you will need to take one little step nearer to achieving your monthly resolution. (You will find that you probably achieve it quicker than your deadline once you get the hang of doing it like this, which is great because it gives you more time to work on the next one!).

Believe me I am going to be doing all of the above. I was disappointed about last year and on the verge of giving everything up, I was disappointed in myself that I had let some things slip and time just ticked away during the year with things not getting done and all because I hadn’t set up a proper plan at the start of the year. Right now I am drawing up month-by-month plans for me, for the business and for our home. One thing is for sure, there is no way we are going to have time to be bored this year!

Ascension Symptoms

After the gruelling six months we have all just come through, the planets are easing up on us this month, our lives therefore should start to feel easier on all levels from mid January onwards.

Physically, some still have low immune systems as they adjust to the energies of the New Year. Planetary disturbances such as floods and volcano eruptions are still knocking sensitives off centre a little. The message this month is very much to look after yourselves (get your nutrition back on track and drink more water), to build up your immune systems, to avoid stress, to take your herbs, supplements and essences to build you up and keep your vibration high. Some have been going through the shedding skin phase as they let go of the old year and bring through their new skin.

On the other levels we will continue to go through our evolutionary processes but less intensely than last year. We will find our energy returning and our spirits feeling raised and more positive than they have done so for a long time.

This year is less about focusing so much on what is wrong than focusing on what is right and manifesting more of the same. When the dips and troughs come (which they naturally will when we have been at a peak and/or on a high) you have your ‘Ascension Tips’ book to help you through the worst of the symptoms. You are experienced Ascenders now and will sail through any difficulties with much more ease than you did last year.

Please Note:
These Ascension updates are for information purposes only and are not intended to diagnose any kind of dis-ease or malady you may be experiencing. If you have concerns about your health, I strongly advise you to see a qualified medical practitioner. (Don’t get carried away in spiritual la-la land and override any messages that your body may be trying to give you). If in doubt – check it out!

Feng Shui Diaries – Update

At last time and space to clear out the old and welcome in the new! Things are well underway now preparing for Chinese New Year next month, meaning that this month is a busy month to clear away, clean, sort, freshen up, renew the house and its contents (including us!) Regular readers will know that this is the time of year when I go into overdrive to get the house sorted in time for Chinese New Year. For me, I always welcome this window of opportunity which opens on New Year’s Day and closes on the first day of Chinese New Year (this year Chinese New Year starts on February 7th), I’ll be talking about that more in next month’s newsletter). So we only have a few weeks to get ourselves organised, prepared and ready for take off this year.

Wishing you all an amazingly happy, successful, loving and fun 2008!
